The Lead teacher will pledge his/her commitment to help the school achieve its mission, goals, and vision; value community; bring a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to take thoughtful, initiative in a collaborative setting. The Lead Teacher is responsible for making clear and effective decisions about planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum including assessments, and extra-curricular activities; leading and managing teaching. Lead Teachers have overall responsibility for the standard of students’ work, outcomes, and behavior in the department. Lead Teachers are expected to teach 12 periods per week. The lead teacher is expected to construct a Development and Improvement Plan, defining short, medium- and long-term goals of the department using assessment data as well as ADEK/KHDA and Accreditation agencies reports. Ensure the curriculum meets set standards and grade level expectations. Promote teaching and learning strategies within the department that stimulate students' interest and involvement in learning and meet the needs of individual learners, drawing on good practice in different areas. Promote, and evaluate students’ academic performance, behavior, and social/emotional development. |
