Position Overview
The Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher plays a key role in supporting the school’s mission and fostering student growth. The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm, collaboration, and a commitment to helping students develop both academically and personally. The teacher is expected to uphold and promote the values of the UAE, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and alignment with the national vision. This role requires strong subject knowledge, a student-centered approach, and the ability to create meaningful, engaging learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver balanced, engaging lessons that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and creativity.
• Assess and track student progress in alignment with curriculum standards and expectations.
• Maintain a classroom environment that fosters curiosity, respect, and active participation.
• Integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction and student learning.
• The SEN teachers work with gifted students and should be committed to further the intellectual and personal development of students, inspiring and empowering them to become positive, active global citizens.
• Organize and provide instruction at a variety of different levels to students who have emotional, behavioral or learning difficulties or physical disabilities, and who find school lessons and learning harder than typical children of the same age.
• Create and apply specific teaching techniques and produce activities that are specific to each student’s abilities and needs.
• Planning, preparing and presenting differentiated lessons that cater the needs of the whole ability range within their class.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to focus on the student’s strengths and weaknesses and outlines the steps necessary to ensure that lessons will help to improve priority areas.
• Collaborate effectively with parents and external specialists (if needed). |
