Position Overview
The school nurse will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, hygiene and overall wellbeing of
students and staff while maintaining full compliance with health authority regulations. The school
nurse will oversee medical operations, health screenings, first aid readiness, and support for students
with specific medical needs. He/she will act as a key liaison with parents and health authorities,
promoting health awareness, child protection, and a safe school environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage all issues with DHA/HAAD/ MOH/ SEHA including compliance, approvals and
statistics.
· Make sure all First Aid Kits are appropriately maintained.
· Undertake School Medicals with specific year groups.
· Communicate with Parents regarding health, safety and medical concerns.
· Attend all the seminars that are requested by the Government Authorities.
· Communicate and liaise with Children’s Health department/ School Health Section at the
Dubai/Abu Dhabi Health Authority.
· Support, manage and caring for children with very specific health issues e.g. diabetic students.
· Proactive Member of the Health and Safety Committee.
· Support and work closely with the school on Child Protection.
· Ensure that parents and students adhere and well informed of immunization requirements per the
DHA/HAAD/ MOH/ SEHA guidelines.
· Be available to students and staff for immediate needs, providing a source of medical advice. |
